We all are designed to solve our own problems. AS is said “TheWisdom Lieswithin the Teams”, similarly we have all the solutions and answers within ourselves. The coach just facilitates the coachee in discovering those resources and using them to achievetheir greatest potential –“ personally and professionally”.
We have aspirations, dreams, hopes, fears, anxieties, and possibilities linked to different aspects of our lives and Coaching helps in generatingself-awareness about each of these.
What is it that a Coach does in Coaching Journey?
- No one listens like a coach does. And as the coach listens the coachee talks, reflects, learns about himself/herself, the situation and gains clarity.
- The coach is non-judgemental. This allows the coachee to be his / her authentic self. When the coachee navigates his / her World with no pretences, truth prevails and solutions arise in the moment.
- The coach is under an oath of confidentiality. This offers the Coachee a very safe and protected space to discuss his / her issues.
- The coach never coaches a topic – a coach coaches the coachee as a person. This allows the Coachee to use these reflections and apply them to all other facets of his / her life.
- The coach NEVER gives advice. Everyone has a different World View and the coach never supersedes the coachee’s World view with his or her own World View. The coach just helps the coachee navigate his / her realities through powerful questioning.
A coach is different from a consultant, therapist, and mentor. A coach creates space for the coachee to think, reflect, connect the dots, and reach solutions
